Solo founder or a team?
It makes no clear difference: 69% of solo founders closed a deal, 66% of pairs and 68% of trios.
Deal rate by the number of founders
Correlation, not cause.
This is a result with no effect, and that is useful to know. Solo founders closed a deal 69% of the time (95 pitches). Pairs closed 66% and teams of three 68%. Teams of four or more reached 75%, but that group is small.
The bars are the share of pitches in each group that ended with a deal. The differences are a few points either way, well within what chance alone would produce.
Investors did not reward or punish the size of the team. What they asked about was who does what. If you pitch alone, say who covers the parts you do not. If you pitch as a team, give each person one clear role.
